about the author

I was born at home in a small village on the edge of the Lancashire moors. At the age of 9, I moved with my family to Zululand (now called KwaZulu-Natal) in South Africa. From as far back as I can remember, I loved to read and my dream was to be an author. But first, I wanted to see the world...

After gaining a business degree at the University of Natal in Durban, I moved to London where I worked hard and saved up to travel around Europe, fulfilling another dream of learning to ski. I spent a year in Sydney, Australia before returning to London and a career in the City. It was only after I joined my local writers' group that I began to write in earnest, building on an idea that I'd had back in primary school - an idea that was to grow into Ben and the Book of Prophecies, the first book in the Prophecies of Ballitor trilogy.

The trilogy is now complete and I'm currently researching a children's thriller set in London, where I live with my husband, two young children and Harry the Labrador.

I'm a member of the Society of Authors, and a committed supporter of the reading charity, Beanstalk (previously known as VRH).
